Making my way through some scruffy quarters I came by this nice looking building, apparently some old monastery.
The cathedral of Barcelona.
Inside the cathedral.
In the background you can see one of the entrances to Alhambra, the two persons are Bettina Wendling (Germany) and Stefan-Sven Jester (Germany) also attending the conference.

One of the many nice streets in downtown Granada with Bettina standing in the foreground.
Our hotel, located on the hills above Granada, just next to the entrance of the Alhambra. The people outside the hotel are the conference attendees waiting for the tour of Alhambra to start.
Before the conference dinner there was a reception in the hotel bar with some cheese, ham, wine, beer and Sangria.
Another picture from the reception.
Yet another picture from the reception, the three people standing in the middle are (from left to right) Nihed Chabaane (France), Paolo Piseri (Italy) and Alessandro Podesta (Italy).
After the conference dinner we headed down to Granada for some nightlife.

The castle section featured original buildings built by the arabs as well as newer building build by the spanish royals in the 15th century as the one shown in this picture.
The inside on the building shown in the previous picture, this building was never finished due to the lack of money after the spanish drove the arabs out of Spain.
This wall is a part of the sultans quarters in Alhambra, this particular wall is the original wall from the 14th century.

Following the road seen in the previous picture will eventually lead down to Al baicin, which can be seen in the background of this picture.
And finally the Alhambra as seen from the church of Saint Nicholas in Al baicin.
View in the old quarters of Al baicin, this was the place where the arabs first settled down when they arrived in Granada.
We ate lunch at Ladrillo in the center of Al baicin.
The lunch consisted of a huge plate of salad, bread, a huge plate of fried fish, shrimps and octopus called Barco (= little boat in spanish) and two cans of beer. The food was delicious andit only cost us 10 &euro per person !!
